The Markhor is the largest goat in the world. Native to the mountains of Pakistan and central Asia mountains. The Markhor is the most striking of any of the wild goats. It is considered one of the top game animals of the World.

Nubian Ibex taken at

We offer 3 types of Ibex including Persian, Nubian and Alpine. All Ibex are very sure-footed and able to escape danger by climbing almost straight up the side of mountains. When threaten they can easily jump an 8 ft. fence. The cliffs and canyons of our ranch make a perfect place to hunt them.

 

Transcaspian  Urial taken at

The Trascaspian Urial is found in the Mountains of Turkistan. Considered by many to be the most beautiful of all sheep. In the winter they have a large white ruff on their neck. They are much larger than the Red Sheep. We have taken many Top Ten Transcaspian Urial at the White Elk Ranch.

     

 

Armenian Mouflon taken at

Native to Turkey and parts of Iraq.   The Armenian Mouflon has a white saddle patch like all Mouflons . In the winter they develop a black ruff on the neck. The males horns are supracervical; curving above and behind the neck which is very striking.

The Red Sheep is a hybrid between the Armenian Mouflon and the Transcaspian Urial that occurs naturally in the Mountains of northern Iran. Our Red Sheep are large body sheep weighing 150 lbs. or more. They develop large heavy horns and beautiful capes on our climate.

     

 

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep taken at White Elk Ranch

The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep is the largest sheep in North American and one of the largest in the World. Males can weight as much as 300 lbs. We have the largest herd of these magnificent sheep in United States.

We are the only ranch to offer White Buffalo hunts. We developed this rare color variation after 15 years of careful breeding. These magnificent animals set off any trophy room collection

 

     

 

Alaskan Dall Sheep taken at White Elk Ranch

Found in most of Alaska’s mountain ranges.  We offer the only herd in the lower 48.  This sheep is not to be confused with the common “Texas Dall” with is nothing more than a white Corsican Sheep. 

 

Wild Turkeys taken at White Elk Ranch

We have a large population of Rio Grand Turkeys on the ranch. In the winter flocks can number in the hundreds. Turkeys can be hunted in the spring and fall in Nebraska. We can arrange for a fall Turkey while you are hunting at the ranch.
